This tour will take you to the famous Nothern Tanzania National Parks including Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro through lake Eyasi. And take you through villages, wildlife zones and pristine lands.

Day 0: Arrival in Arusha

Meet on Kilimanjaro International Airport with a driver guide and transfer to Mount Meru Game Lodge Sanctuary or a hotel of that status. Detailed briefing after breakfast followed by a tour in the game sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Mount Meru Game Lodge Sanctuary.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Distance: 130 km

Travel time: 2 – 3 hrs.

After breakfast depart for Tarangire National Park for game drive. First you will stop in Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before heading to Tarangire. The driving is through Maasai steppe, shopping centres & many villages. We will be breaking at some of these shopping centers for a business trade or at least placing an order on our way. On arrival, sign up with the park authority and begin game driving immediately.

This park is famous for its large baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Other animals in herds, troops and packs have being coming to Tarangire in drought seasons when food and water resources are scarce in nearby parks. Expect to see large herds of buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes and other representatives of herbivores, large troops of baboons, blue and vervet monkeys, Good representatives of predators such as Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards and Jackals are in this park in great number. Over 400 species of birds have been recorded including the famous Ostrich and the rare Ash Starling. Evening game drive to Sangaiwe Tented Lodge where you will have dinner & overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

Distance:  50 km

Non – game viewing time: 1 hour.

Depart for Manyara National Park after breakfast. Check in and sign up with Park Authorities at least at 9:30 am. Start morning drive through underground water forest and proceed through designated trails which lead to bush lands, and small grass lands to the famous Lake Manyara which the Park got its name from. This park harbors Aquatic and terrestrial animals and plants. Very large troops, herds, packs and flocks are harbored in this park. Our driver guide will lead you through this beauty with verbal acrobatics of your language. Dinner and overnight at lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Lake Eyasi – Serengeti National park

Distance: 132 km

Non – game viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs.

The tour takes you to bushmen land and let you sample some of their traditional activities. Early morning hunting with the Hadzabe or Datoga people, wild fruit and roots gathering, a visit to a local production site (blacksmith), and back for breakfast. The journey to Serengeti will begin at least half an hour after breakfast.

Travel through farm lands and villages pausing only in special viewing points at Ngorongoro Crater Rim for pictures then a long stop at a Maasai village in Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a cultural tour. A Maasai guide will meet and take us through their home place explaining cultural phenomenon. A Maasai family is always willing to share their cultural experience around watching clients. You can participate in a dance, observe their rituals, here their stories, visit their local production sites and sample their food and drinks. Afterwards drive into the heart of wildlife of Africa just a few kilometers from Ngorongoro. Enter Naabi Hill Gate for registration and signing up then break for a picnic lunch. This gate is at the southern part of Serengeti where wildebeest and those animals circling in some annual expedition in quest for greener pasture will rest and give birth. They say that grasses in this region are richer with minerals necessary for fast growth and early child development and a lot of animals know this. Our trip will cut through the southern plains of Serengeti and take us to the Central Serengeti Area called Seronera. Seronera River provides a permanent source of water in this region making it important home for water dependent animals like grazers. This is a rich land with diverse flora and fauna. We will have an evening game drive around the central part of Serengeti then retire later at Thorn Trees Camp for diner and overnight.

Day 4 & 5:  Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

Early morning game drive to catch nocturnal and crepuscular animals before retiring to rest in the shades and hidings. The tropical sun gets hot very early in the plains of Serengeti so to catch predators in action tourists need to come to the field early. You will be provided with breakfast and lunch box from the camp. The game viewing may start as early as 6:30 am morning and proceed to 9:30 am where there will be a break for breakfast in the bush lands.

Spending 2 days at Serengeti National Park may give you enough time to follow wildebeests and other grazers in migration. At least animals philosophies allow them to live health without over-exploiting resources. Wildebeests and other grazers will be harvesting grasses as they journey away in herds while hunters of different kinds and techniques reducing the weak and sick ones. Whether an individual get eaten or not you could say there is some symbiosis in Serengeti. Our trips around this parts are organized in a way that we could dodge the blazing hot parts of the day and enjoy our self under some shade. Early mornings and late evenings are the best time to catch animals in a serious action like hunting, mating, fighting, etc. Animals you are likely to see include; Grazers, browsers and mixed feeders: Elephants, Black Rhino, Giraffes, Buffalo, Elands, Kudus, Gazelles, wildebeests etc in good number. Predators are also well represented by lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyena, jackals etc. Those that are arboreal like baboons could depend on large rocks (kopjes) instead of trees for refuge at the plains. Small amazing animals such as squirrels, shrews, rats, and hyraxes a well adapted to a happy life in Serengeti. Birds, bats, frogs, snakes, lizards, tortoise, arthropods with different taste, style, and talents are also well represented. A full day trip a round these creatures observing their nature and ways of life till evening and later retire at Thorn Trees Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Distance: 145 km

Non – game viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs.

Early game drive before breakfast from at least 6:30 am to 9:30 am. A short break for breakfast at 9:30 am then proceed with game viewing to 12:00 noon for an early lunch. Depart for Ngorongoro after lunch. Arrive at Rhino Lodge in Ngorongoro Conservation Area at a good time for sunset observation.

• Overnight at Rhino Lodge located at the Crater rim or similar at Karatu Town.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha – Airport

Distance: 220 km

Non – game viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs.

Early descent to the crater floor for a game drive. It is at least 600m to the crater floor from the rim. This crater is said by many to be the 8th nature wonder of the world. A caldera formed through actions and reactions of internal forces. As you descend from the rim, what appeared to be stones become herds, troops, packs etc of different species of animals. A trip around the crater floor may take your breath away. Visit lake Magadi for aquatic birds observation after lunch break then drive later in the afternoon to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure.
