Detailed Daily Itinerary
DAY 1: ARUSHA → LAKE EYASI
Morning pick-up from Arusha. Drive through the Great Rift Valley towards Lake Eyasi. Arrive at Lake Eyasi and check in at the lodge. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon visit to the Datoga community: experience their traditional way of life, livestock keeping, and family activities. Visit the Datoga blacksmiths and see traditional metalworking, including making tools, jewellery, and arrowheads. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. (Accommodation: Lake Eyasi area lodge | Meal Plan: Full Board).
DAY 2: HADZABE BUSHMEN
Very early morning departure with a local Hadzabe guide. Join the Hadzabe on their traditional bush hunting and gathering experience. Learn about tracking, traditional bows and arrows, fire-making, and gathering wild foods. Optional traditional hunting experience: depending on community activity, guests may accompany the Hadzabe on a baboon hunt or other permitted hunting (community-led). Return to lodge for lunch and rest. Afternoon cultural interaction learning about traditions, language, lifestyle, and environment. Dinner and overnight at lodge. (Meal Plan: Full Board).
DAY 3: DATOGA → ARUSHA
Breakfast at the lodge. Visit another Datoga family/community to experience traditional pastoral life, including livestock keeping and household activities. Opportunity to interact with community members and learn about their culture. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon departure for Arusha, arriving in the evening with drop-off at your hotel.
