Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire
Our driver guide will pick you from your hotel at around 8:00am and begin your drive to Tarangire National Park. It should take at least 2 hours to get there, but this should give you enough time to appreciate the changes in landscape along the way and visit local communities, taking a cultural tour around Maasai Bomas and the local markets. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Wild Palm Campsite.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we will experience a full day in the park. This park is a haven for wild animals during the drought season as they migrate from nearby parks and game reserve areas to seek food resources in Tarangire, which has a permanent water supply from Tarangire River and swamps. The scenic beauty of the land is perfected by low lying hills on the floor of rift valley and dotted with acacia trees and the legendary giant baobab trees. Here you have the chance to see rare and endangered species of animals and birds such as the greater kudu, fringe-eared oryx and ashy starlings. In the late afternoon, we shall begin to Manyara National Park where you will have dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Lilac campsite.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
A large part of this park is a shallow soda lake that has attracted a great number of water birds and a million flamingoes. The other parts of the park include a forest area which is fed by under-ground streams and acacia woodlands dotted with giant baobab trees. There are also rivers, swamps and pools inhabited by hippos and crocodiles. Lions here occasionally rest in trees to escape biting flies or just to have a better vantage point of the park. There are also big herds of elephant, buffalos and troops of baboons around the park. We will have a full day tour in this park visiting different places including the hot water spring. In the afternoon, we shall begin to Karatu and Ngorongoro highlands. Dinner and overnight at Lilac campsite.
Day 4: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, we will enjoy some time canoeing on Lake Manyara, then in the mid-morning, we will begin to Ngorongoro highlands. We will aim to arrive at Ngorongoro in time for lunch before beginning the descent of 600m down to the crater floor, where we will have lunch. After the lunch break, we will proceed with an afternoon of game viewing. Prepare to be amazed by the number of animals that have found a home in this crater. The critically endangered black rhino, buffalos, wildebeest, gazelles, elephants, leopards amongst other species. Water birds of different species including flamingos can be seen at Lake Magadi. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Simba campsite.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Highland Walk
After breakfast, we will have a full day walk through the area to Empakaai Crater and descend down to the lake to view water birds and flamingos. Walking around this conservation area will fill you with wonder and amazement, wild animals and people walk side by side as it would have been many, many years ago. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Highland – Serengeti
After breakfast, we will begin the drive to the Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge. This gorge is significant in human history and evolution as it is here where the skulls of the Nutcracker and Handy man are preserved. After a stopover in this gorge, we will proceed to Serengeti for a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Campsite.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park north – Wildebeest Migration Game-drive
We will have a full day game drive at the Northern part of Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight at North Kati-Kati tented camp.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park – Lake Natron
After breakfast, you will visit Lake Natron through Klain’s gate, enjoying a game drive on your way. Lake Natron is a natural lake where flamingos prefer to breed and raise their young. They will come here from time to time during the breeding season. You will get to visit this notable breeding site and waterfalls where you will be able to take time for a swim. The mountain of God nearby has contributed to the beauty of the land. You will get to hike this magnificent active volcanic cone when night falls. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp.
Day 9: Lake Natron – Arusha
After you get back from hiking, you will have the chance to relax and rest for a while, before heading to Arusha where you will have dinner and overnight at Planet Lodge.
Day 10: Arusha – Airport (Kilimanjaro International Airport) You will be picked up after breakfast and transferred to the airport.
