On ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

Transfer from the airport to a hotel at Arusha Town. A guide will meet you at the hotel for briefing on your safari at least an hour after arriving at the hotel. The rest of the day you will spend at the hotel relaxing and enjoying yourself.

Accommodation: The Bay Leaf Arusha (bed and breakfast) or a hotel with similar status.

DAY 1: ARUSHA TOWN – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

Early breakfast and begin to Manyara National Park. We will drive for 2 hours cutting through urban regions, villages, arid zones occasionally used for grazing domesticated animals and farms on a tarmac road. The shallow and alkaline Lake Manyara covers a large area of the park and it is the seasonal home to thousands of flamingos – an awesome (pink) sight. However more than 400 other bird species are also found here as well as mammals, reptiles, arthropods, amphibians etc  Just to name a few: Lions, Leopards, Cheetah, Hyenas, Jackals, Civets, Mongoose, Rhinos, Giraffes,  monkeys, baboons, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, hornbills, pelicans, storks, heron, pigeons and doves, drongo, rollers, fly catchers, barbets, bulbuls, finches etc names in no particular order. It is the home for the famous tree climbing lions. From adventure open roof of the vehicle you will be able to watch the animals and absorb the stunning landscape of the park and its Great Rift valley. In the evening your drive to Karatu for your overnight at the lodge arranged. On your way you will stop at several viewpoint and breaks.

DAY 2: KARATU – NGORONGORO CRATER – KARATU

We will have an early breakfast at Ngorongoro Conservation Area and begin game driving early. This highland has hills, craters, lakes, rivers, mashes, springs, plains, bushes, forests etc. From the upper region at a good sunny day in early mornings the landscapes beauty defines magnificent blatantly. A descent to the crater floor cuts through wild flowers, sedges, grasses, herbs and shrubs on some designated routes.  On your game drive you have the possibility of seeing all different kinds of mammals ranging from the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – to Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles and mountain reedbucks. You might also see spotted hyenas, and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. We will drive through game viewing to lunch break.

DAY 3: KARATU – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – ARUSHA

We will begin to Tarangire National Park after  and early breakfast. It is an hour drive to this park on a tarmac road at least 67 km. Sign in at mid-morning and begin our game drive through this wildlife haven. Animals come here in drought seasons in search of greener pasture. Tarangire River feeds into the park providing it with a permanent source of water. This park is legendarily known for its large baobab trees with a life spun of some thousand years.  They say the tree is an upturned giant carrot with flowers that appears occasionally and hard covered fruits that serve as food for animals like elephants and monkeys with special tools and skills for crashing them. The land of Tarangire is speckled with different species of acassia trees, mahogany, delbergia etc which provides good habitat for arboreal species of animals but diverse habitat can be noted all over the park. We are sure to see animals gathering at special spots at the river valley such as elephants, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, dik-diks, waterbucks, warthogs, reedbucks etc. Good representatives of carnivore, herbivore, and omnivore vertebrates and invertebrates.  After an extensive game drive, you will exit the park and drive back to Arusha town.
